Full Description

A school, designed by Mr Peck in the Tudor style and completed in 1868. Partly rebuilt following a fire in 1922. The school is built of red brick beneath a gabled slate roof. The plan form is "E" shaped. The central tower contains a pair of narrow windows in stone surrounds, below a stepped gable with a clock face. There is an octagonal stair tower at one corner, which has a castellated head. The school appears in Pevsner's Buildings of England. (1)
