Full Description

A toll house, built in the late eighteenth century to serve the Erewash Canal (opened 1779) [SMR 99008]. It is built of painted brick beneath a gabled slate roof. The front elevation is of two storeys. The first floor has three uPVC windows beneath segmental heads. The toll house appears in Nixon's Industrial Archaeology of Derbyshire. (1)
