Full Description

Thomas mentions a Birchwood (West) quarry. (1) There are crags shown within Birchwood on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880 which may be the remains of a former quarry. (2) Modern maps show these crags are still extant. (3)
