Farey listed Belper Gutter sandstone quarries in 1811, Hall Lane quarry was within this group. (1) There is an old quarry situated off Hall Lane, Belper on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880, this may be that referred to by Farey in 1811. (2)
