Full Description

Prior to the First World War, United British Basalt and Roadstone Ltd. worked Dunsley Mill Quarry. In 1910/11 this site produced 3,900 tons or about a third of the county output although it closed for some years just after the First War. (1) A quarry is shown opposite Dunsley Mill on the Via Gellia on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880, possibly that referred to by Thomas in 2000. (2)
