Full Description
Crich Quarry, Cromford was included in a report into the potential to re-establish the roofing slate industry of the South Pennines region. It is a series of quarries running along The Tors through Crich. Those visited did not show and fissile rock. (1)
The 1st edition 25" ordnance survey map of c. 1880 shows a series of quarries, running north to south along The Tors, at the side of the Crich Mineral Railway [SMR 18420]. (2)
Modern maps show the quarries as disused, houses have been built within them. (3)
