Full Description
                        Slack Edge Quarry was included in a report into the potential to re-establish the roofing slate industry of the South Pennine region.  There are several small developments quarried south-easterly into the rising ground but overgrown so rock cannot be seen.  Rough Rock.  (1)
There is a quarry shown on Slack Edge, Charlesworth on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey map of c. 1880.  (2)
Modern maps show two disused quarries on Slack Edge.  (3)
