Full Description

Quarries near Rock Farm were included in a report into the potential to re-establish the roofing slate industry of the South Pennine region. No quarries to be seen - just depressions in the ground. (1) Two quarries are shown off Monk's Road on the 2nd edition 25" ordnance survey map of c. 1900. (2)
