Full Description

The Roman road from Buxton (Aquae Arnemetiae) to Derby (Derventio), probably to the fort at Little Chester. The road is visible in places along its length. These notes were made in 1978 by Wroe: SK 0974 6913: Length of agger. SK 0986 6906: In the valley bottom there is evidence of cuts to the south on each side of the valley. SK 0997 6900: Slight terrace. SK 0250 8840 to SK 0537 8671: Little or no trace of the road along this length. (1)
