Ashover Quarry was included in a report into the potential to re-establish the roofing slate industry of the South Pennine region. Owned by Realstone but not operating and heavily overgrown with mature trees. Many large holes excavated with 'walls' between. Reportedly a millstone quarry. No sign of the rock - buried by leaf mold and conifers. Water and power across the road. Chatsworth Grit. (1)
