Full Description

Cave in Marl Dale off the north-east end of Deep Dale, excavated by Salt on the 28th February 1898. He found a flint scraper, a bronze pin and Romano-British pottery. (Note that the grid reference that has been associated with this site (SK163 695) by North Derbyshire Archaeological Trust Index: 1756 does not accord with the description of a cave 'off the north-east end of Deep Dale'.)
