Full Description
There is a cupola situated in this area on Burdett's map of 1791. (1)
The cupola is no longer extant by the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. (2)
The site of Callow lead-smelting cupola is situated c. SK 252 822. Disturbed ground and scarred hillsides are all that indicate the site, which was worked, amongst other things, in the early 1800s by the Byrds family of Eyam. (3)
