Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

Full Description

The M1 motorway separates the two medieval parks of Barlborough [see SMR 1149 also]. The park to the west was known as Longford Park, after Nicholas Longford, who led the manor after the de Hathersage family. This park surrounded the family seat of Park Hll, until relatively recently used as a hotel and now known as Park Hall Farm [2009]. Industry has disrupted the landscape considerably here, although there are parcels of scattered woodland remaining. (1)
