Full Description

Local Buckland Hollow suggests Hartshay was an enclosure for breeding female deer. Western boundary probably followed field line and then down what is now Ripley Road. Documnetary evidence states that the canons were willing to let adjoining owner Ralph de Frescheville of Crich to hunt in the enclosure. (1)
