Full Description

A two storey brick office block built in 1907 is all that now [written in 1997] remains of the original works of the Ashbourne Gas Company. There was originally a range of workshops and a gas holder at the rear. The gas works were established at this site in 1840 and enlarged in 1852. The gas holder had a capacity of 10,000 cubic feet.
