Full Description
An 'Old Limekiln' and adjacent, presumably related, earthworks appear at this location, just to the south-south-west of Great Low, on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. (1)
The earthworks are still present on modern OS mapping [2014], but the lime kiln is no longer labelled. (2)
A circular feature, presumably the lime kiln, appears as an earthwork on Google Maps aerial photographs [2014]. The workings associated with the lime kiln are also visible as earthworks. (3)
The site of a demolished 19th century lime kiln. The site was in an isolated location. All traditional buildings have been lost. (4, 5, 6, 7)
