Full Description

A possible wing dam can be seen at this location on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900. The structure is still visible, though much silted and overgrown, on modern aerial photographs. It is similar to structures at Foremark [see SMR 20022 and SMR 20023]. The site was visited when the Trent was very high, and only the triangular root was visible. The upstream face of this is of stone construction, currently with a concrete layer on top. It is not known whether any of the wall survives extending in to the river. (1)
