Full Description

The stone coffin at the base of the church tower dates from 1200 and was unearthed in the churchyard. One famous family associated with the Ashover area is the Nightingales. Florence Nightingale had a Derbyshire residence at Lea Hurst near Dethick. In the burial ground there are four tombs to the Nightingale family. (1)
