Full Description

A previously unrecorded round barrow was visited by J Barnatt in March 2014. It is situated at SK 0523 8504, at Mount Pleasant between Chinley and Hayfield. It is approximately 20m in diameter and just over 0.5m high. There are a couple of stones visible through the turf that may suggest a buried kerb. It may have originally been flat topped, but the interior has been partially robbed for stone. Nearby to the west side there is an obvious hollow way [SMR 7583]. The barrow can just be made out on Google Maps aerial photographs. (1-2)
