Full Description

'Yorkshire' type late Bronze Age axe. In the late Bronze Age, more spohisticated casting techniques developed allowing the production of hollow artefacts. It is at this period that lead is introduced into the copper alloys which improves the casting properties of the alloy as well as making it less brittle once cast. (1)
