Full Description

Farmed by the Hawkins family for many years, who also had a holding at Cackleton Green and Parkside. Their name appears regularly, over the centuries, in the Manor Court Rolls. The name suggests that at some period the brook was dammed above the house. Possibly the site of an ancient water mill in Morley Park. Cruck built and now restored. (1)

  • <1> Unpublished document: Judge, T (Ripley Historical Group). 1993. Some places of interest in Heage Village.
