Full Description

SK 1245 6235. Site of Ludwell deserted Medieval village, presumably in the area of Ludwell Mill. Ludwell is noted in Domesday Book. (1,3). Ludwell was known as Lodowelle (1086), Lodewell (1297), Lodwalle (1328) and Ludwall(e) (1415). It may mean 'Loud Spring'. (2).
