Full Description

A medieval gold finger ring was recovered by a metal detectorist in 1998. It was reported to the coroner as potential treasure in 1999. The ring had an oval bezel incised with a monogram, probably 'AV', within a stabbed border and outer beaded border. The weight was approximately 10g and had a maximum diameter of 25mm. The bezel was 10 x 13 mm. The enclosed site location plan and report locates the findspot in the field to the east of Pear Tree Farm, at c. SK 3426 4686. (1)
