Full Description

Hartington pound, possibly medieval in date, is recorded by Derby Museum at c. SK 133605. (1). The pinfold is shown on the 1st edition Ordnace Survey map and therefore pre-dates the mid 1870s. (2). About half of a circular pinfold remains by the side of the road leading east out of Hartington. Now [in 1971] part of a council depot. (1)
