Hartington pound, possibly medieval in date, is recorded by Derby Museum at c. SK 133605. (1).
The pinfold is shown on the 1st edition Ordnace Survey map and therefore pre-dates the mid 1870s. (2).
About half of a circular pinfold remains by the side of the road leading east out of Hartington. Now [in 1971] part of a council depot. (1)
