Full Description

The site of the wharf at Bullbridge is situated at SK 35801 52372. The wharf had a high bank where a tippler overturned the wagons, throwing the limestone directly in to a boat. To withstand the violence of this method of loading, the boats were made of riveted cast-iron plates and lined with thick deal planks. (1)
