Full Description

Two-storey field barn with a fireplace on the upper floor and door- and window-surrounds in gritstone. Maps show it was built after 1841 but before 1922. (1) The site of a demolished 19th century outfarm was identified at this location during an Historic Farmsteads Project carried out in 2016. The outfarm was formed of a loose courtyard with one side of the yard formed of agricultural buildings. The site was in an isolated location. All traditional buildings have been lost. (2, 3, 4, 5) Some walls of the former barn appear to survive on modern OS mapping [2017]. (6)
