Full Description

Watercourse consisting of partly cut-and-cover conduit and partly open, concrete-lined, drain. Runs down the woodlands valley from the dam at Alport bridge (see SMR 34403). South of Hagg Famr it crosses the river as a steel siphon to be continued as a tunnel which runs under Hagg and empties into the Derwent Reservoir. The watercourse was built in the 1920s to increase the catchment area of the Derwent and Howden reservoirs. (1)
