Full Description

Adjacent to Holt House on the east is a large barn constructed in the style of a chapel, with a date stone of 1416 above the door. The Dakeyne family motto was 'Strike Dakeyne, the devil's in the hemp', beileved to originate from naval fire ships, in which the Dakeynes had a history of naval service.
