Full Description

Medieval bank, damaged in places, with a ditch to the east comprising a series of interlinked quarry pits. By examining the present pattern of medieval enclosures, fossilised by later enclosure walls, and studying the field pattern at the time of the 1804 Inclosure Award plan, it can be seen that this defines the north-western edge of the medieval open field of Hartington village.
