Full Description

At SK 0683 6825 is a linear bank and ditch associated with the parish boundary. (1). A broad bank of probable medieval date marks the boundary between Hartington Middle and Upper Quarters. It is 3m wide and up to 0.6m high. The boundary that it marks is shown on maps from 1614, the date of the earliest available map of the area. (2).
