Full Description

The site of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force Communal and Living Quarters attached to Ashbourne World War Two Airfield, with an access track at the far side of the woods on the approach to Osmaston. The quarters had similar facilities to those at the RAF communal site (SMR 24007); dining rooms, sick quarters, officer's mess, bath house and laundary. The former access track is now a public right of way and a few building floors and blast shelters can be made out in the woods to the left (west) of the path. (1)
