Full Description

SK 19 63. Small uninscribed altar found in the wall of an old cottage at Middleton, repaired in 1831. (1,4). "I do not feel sure that the 'altar' is Roman". (2,4). The present location of this stone was not determined but the illustration (which shows a stone with recessed/inlaid panel), suggests a modern work. (3,4).
