Full Description

Post-Medieval lynchets and evidence of mining located north of Middleton as part of the disused Stitchen Mine. The area is predominantly mined for lead. The features were first identified as earthworks during a LiDAR survey which was carried out in 2015. The mining activity is characterised by a collection of roughly circular spoil heaps associated with mine shafts. The Medieval lynchets are aligned north to south. (1)
