Stone baulks to Nos. 7-36 Long Row, Belper, built between 1794-1797. From the National Heritage List for England: 'LONG ROW 1. 5167 (North Side) Stone Baulks outside each home Nos 7 to 20 (consec) and Nos 25 to 36 (consec). 3 stone baulks on railway bridge between Nos 20 and 25. Stone kerb on bridge between Nos 20 and 25 SK 3447 NE 1/30 28.9.76. GV II 2. 1794-1797. Stone baulks small and square on plan with rounded corners and concave tops. Stone kerb in front of railway bridge preserving line of front garden kerbs and atone baulks in front of houses along north side of street (the baulks, probably were intended to keep carts out of the gully and away from the stone garden kerbs (originally railed). Their concave tops suggest they may also have been intended to serve as small mounting blocks when required. Listing NGR: SK3477847904.' (1)
