Nos. 37-40 Market Place, Belper, a late 18th or early 19th century terrace. From the National Heritage for Engand: 'MARKET PLACE 1. 5167 Nos 37 to 40 (consec) SK 3547 3/142 II GV 2. Late C18/early C19. Four coursed stone terraced houses of 3 storeys each, stepped down hillside. Tiled roofs, red brick end chimneys. End houses 2 windows each, centres have one window each. Top floors generally sashes with glazing bars. Ground floor of No 38 has early C19 shop front with pilasters cornice, frieze and architrave. No 40 has double wooden doors. Doors generally with plain fanlights and stone steps. Listing NGR: SK3503147413.' (1)
