Road bridge over Railway, Makeney Road, Duffield, built c1838. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 34 SW PARISH OF DUFFIELD MAKENEY ROAD 3/14 Road bridge over 5.5.81 railway by Duffield Church (formerly listed as Road Bridge by Duffield Church) II Bridge carrying road over railway. 1838-42 by George Stephenson. Red brick faced in sandstone ashlar and rock-faced sandstone. Five elliptical arches. Rock-faced piers with stone impost band and evenly radiating voussoirs. Rock-faced spandrels. Heavy roll moulded band at the base of the coped parapet. End piers. The bridge is on the main Midland Railway Line and is shown on the first edition of the Ordnance Survey map published in 1839.
