Full Description

A two-storey solid stone field barn with wooden doors and a slate tile roof, dating to at least the late 19th century, surveyed by the DerwentWISE Field Barn Project in March 2016. The barn is located on private land near Dene Quarry and so was surveyed from a nearby footpath which limited the view, mainly to the east elevation and partial views of the north and south elevations. The barn appeared structurally sound and in good overall condition, and in current use for storage. See survey report for further details. (1) This barn appears on the first edition 25"OS Map of c. 1880. (2)
