Full Description
Dilapidated single storey field barn just off Old Lane to the north of Wirksworth dating to at least the late 19th century and surveyed in March AND June 2016 as part of the DerwentWISE Field Barn Project. The barn is not in current use and is in very bad overall condition, without a roof and with the irregular stone walls in a state of collapse. There is a door opening in the south elevation, partially blocked by a metal gate, and a possible dew pond south of the barn. See survey reports for further details. (1,2)
This barn is visible on the first edition 25"OS Map of c. 1880. (3)
There is a later extension to this barn [MDR16545] surveyed as PA 16B. (4)
