Full Description

Two-storey gable-roofed barn with stone lean-toos on the east and west elevations, in good overall condition, dating to at least the late 19th century and built of irregular shaped stone with a slate roof. There is a door in the east elevation, a possible door or window in the north elevation, a blocked-up taking-in door in the south elevation. Surveyed as part of the DerwentWISE Field Barns Project in June 2016. See survey report for further details. (1) The barn (without the leant-toos) is visible on the first edition 25"OS Map of c. 1880. The lean-toos only appear on 20th century maps, suggesting that they are later additions. (2)
