Full Description

SK 1930 6312. Roman bronze annular gilt brooch found 0.6 metres (2 feet) below ground level in March 1831. The NGR is Rock Cottage, but no written evidence suggests it was from here. (1) Also described as a circular fibula, or slide form strap, made of bronze with six projections on the under side, partly gilt. Found underground in Middleton on the 2nd March 1831. (3)
