Goosehill Hall, Buxton Road, Castleton, a late 18th century building. 'Gooshill Hall, Castleton. Extant 18th century farmstead. The farmstead is formed of a regular courtyard of L-plan and additional detached elements to the main plan. The farmhouse is set away from the yard. The site is located within or in association to a village. with one or more of the structural elements dating to the 18th centuryAll the traditional buildings remain extant.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 18 SW PARISH OF CASTLETON BUXTON ROAD 6/24 (South Side) 21.4.67 Goosehill Hall GV II House. Late C18. Rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roofs with stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Three stone ridge stacks and two gable end stacks, one truncated. Two storeys over basement, irregular L-plan. North elevation of five bays with three bay return wall to west wing. Doorway at the angle formed by the return wall, with moulded stone surround and cornice. Semi-circular steps and iron rail. Raised and fielded panelled door. To the left, a 2-light square section flush mullion window, then three glazing bar sashes set in stone surrounds to the left. Five 2-light square section flush mullion windows above. Return wall with two glazing bar sashes and a doorway to the ground floor and three 2-light square section flush mullion windows above. Irregular south elevation, with mostly glazing bar sashes.
