Full Description

Outfarm on Middleton Lane, Stoney Middleton. Extant 19th century outfarm. The outfarm is formed of a single structure with two sides of the yard formed of agricultural buildings. The site is in an isolated location. All the traditional buildings remain extant. (1) (2) (3) (4) A photographic survey in 2020 indicatd that there were 3 structures. The first of building was the middle building that was built in the early-mid 19th century and which may have been a cattle shelter. 1840-70 a larger 2 storey stucture was added to the west. This seems to have been built as a cow shed, with stalls and a hay loft above. In the late 19th century a separate cattle shelter, perhaps a bull pen, was added to the west. (5)
