Green Farm farmhouse, The Square, Middleton and Smerrill, a 19th century building. 'Green Farm, Middleton and Smerrill. Extant 19th century farmstead. The farmstead is formed of a regular courtyard of L-plan. The farmhouse is set away from the yard. The site is located within or in association to a village. All the traditional buildings remain extant.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 16 SE PARISH OF MIDDLETON AND SMERRILL 4/35 Green Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. C19. Coursed squared limestone blocks with gritstone dressings, moulded eaves band, rebuilt end ridge stacks, C20 concrete tiles. 'L' plan. Two storeys, three bays, with glazing bar sashes without horns set into stone surrounds. Ground floor windows and quoined door surround have hood moulds with stops. Six panelled door. West gable has single-light openings with cast iron Gothic frames. Listing NGR: SK1959863149.' (5)
