Tor Farm farmhouse, The Square, Middleton and Smerrill, a 19th century building. 'Torr Barn, Middleton and Smerrill. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. The farmstead is of a dispersed plan with multiple yards. The farmhouse is set away from the yard. The site is located within or in association to a village. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 16 SE PARISH OF MIDDLETON AND SMERRILL 4/55 Tor Farmhouse GV II Farmhouse. C19. Limestone rubble with gritstone dressings, flat coped gables, plain kneelers, moulded eaves band, end ridge stack, each with three linked chimneys set diagonally, concrete tiles. 'L' plan. Two storeys, three bays, formerly with glazing bar sashes, now with C20 joinery, set into stone surrounds. Ground floor windows and massively-quoined central doorway have hood moulds and stops, C20 glazed door. Listing NGR: SK1961863175.' (5)
