Monument record MDR2101 - Possible round barrow, Middle Hay, Cressbrook Dale, Great Longstone

Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

SK: 1760 7348: Ravencliffe, ?Round Barrow: Low mound, adjacent to farm buildings and apparently undisturbed. (1) This small, low mound appears to be earthen and is irregular in its southern half. While the possibility of a barrow cannot be discounted, it is not particularly convincing and could be alternatively interpreted as a more recent feature, perhaps upcast from an old badger set.
