Type and Period (2)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

SK: 165 734: Litton, Lynchets: A series of broad lynchetted fields south of Litton. SK: 166 735: Litton, Strip Lynchets: A series of strip lynchets south of Litton. (1). SK 165 734: Suggested by Butcher as being Celtic fields. (2). Romano-British field system. Surface features include lynchets and possible terraces. The strip lynchets to the north of the SMR location lie within medieval open field and all of the area is most likely to be medieval in date. The Romano-British date seems unlikely. (3)
