Full Description

The Green, Town Street, Brassington, a 17th century building. 'The Green Cottage, Brassington. Extant 17th century farmstead. The farmstead is of a row plan. The farmhouse is attached to the agricultural range. The site is located within or in association to a village. All the traditional buildings remain extant.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 23 54 5/42 BRASSINGTON TOWN STREET (East Side) The Green GV II House. C18. Coursed limestone rubble with flush gritstone dressings and quoins. Plain tile roof. One brick gable end stack, another off-centre rendered ridge stack. Three storeys. Three bay front. Three 2-light mullioned windows, one blocking former off-centre doorcase. Inserted central door covered by projecting C20 glazed porch. Adjacent door to south. Above two pairs of 2-light mullioned windows stacked immediately above each other to form 4-light mullioned and transomed window to two floors. To north a single 2-light mullioned window.
