Full Description

RAF Ashbourne was built in 1942 and became a crucial training airfield during World War Two. It had a number of dispersed communal and living accommodation sites. These dispersed sites will have been served by a sewage disposal site, which was situated at this location. (1) There are still some standing (ruined) remains from the former sewage works visible on modern mapping and aerial photographs at this site [2016]. (2, 3)
