Full Description

Evidence for medieval ridge and furrow has been identified during the high-resolution Lidar survey undertaken in the winter of 2015/2016 by Bluesky. The survey was commissioned by Trent and Peak Archaeology on behalf of DerwentWISE Project. (1) The ridge and furrow are located to the west of Starkholmes in the parish of Matlock Parish. The features pattern is both widely spaced and narrow which mach suggest the function of the furrows was for the purpose of drainage. (2)
