Full Description

Evidence for Post-medieval embanked/walled shafts has been identified, west of Willersley Lane, north-east of the Willersley Tunnel, during a high-resolution Lidar survey carried out in the winter of 2015/2016 by Bluesky. The survey was commissioned by Trent and Peak Archaeology on behalf of DerwentWISE Project. (1) The Post-medieval embanked/walled shafts are identified as round features in the landscape and are possibly related to mining industries in the area. (2)
